For new home buyers:

It’s simple. Buy a new home wired by a union electrical contractor (whose electricians belong to IBEW Local 252) working with a participating builder, and your wiring is automatically protected free for an extra five years beyond the builder’s basic one year warranty.

The program covers the original home owner for work performed by Local 252 IBEW electricians on newly-built homes, in the unlikely event that electrical problems should develop during the five years following the builder’s one-year warranty.

The +5 Homeowner’s Electrical Protection Plan is provided at absolutely no additional expense to the new home buyer. The Plan is available only through your IBEW Local 252 union electrical contractors and participating builders.

For builders:

We at IBEW Local 252 are proud of our members. Because of our extensive training and apprenticeship programs, we feel we have the best trained and most professional electricians in the country. We train our apprentices for five full years to learn the commercial and industrial side of the business, and residential apprentices must complete a three-year program, including both classroom and on-the-job training, before receiving their certification.

To back up the pride we have in our workers, we have introduced the +5 Program for new residential construction.

Here’s how the +5 Program works:

we provide an extended five year warranty on work performed by our union members. In other words, we are extending the usual one-year warranty by an additional five years, giving new home buyers a total of six years of guaranteed electrical work. It’s our guarantee of quality, and it’s free to you and your customers.

There is no cost to you or the new home buyer, and there are no hidden costs. The +5 Extended Warranty program is entirely funded by the Labor-Management Cooperation Committee of Local 252.
